Senior Accountant


The Town of Sidney invites applications from enthusiastic team players with an attention for detail, an eye for innovation, motivation to improve the status quo, and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating a dedicated team in the day-to-day operations of the Town’s revenue systems: property taxes, utility billing, dog licensing, cash receipting, and accounts receivable, as well as reporting on and integrating these systems with the General Ledger, and taking an active role in other Finance functions including financial statement and audit preparation. Applicants must have completed at least the third level of a recognized accounting program and have five years related experience including solid working knowledge of computerized accounting systems, preferably in a local government environment. This is a regular, full-time Union position with an hourly rate of $43.21 to $46.97 (2024 rates), plus a comprehensive benefits package.
